Reducing Size Doesn't Have To Mean Sacrificing Performance:

Fractional Cello Strings from Larsen Strings®Setting A New Standard

Fractional cello strings don’t have to be characterized by a metallic, dull sound and pitch instability when bowing.

The new Fractional Cello strings from Larsen Strings® are offered in medium tension and are designed to provide a power and projection otherwise only known from full-sized instruments. A warm, rich and focused tone combined with easy string response and high tuning and pitch stability makes these strings comparable with the best full-sized cello stings known – a new standard of strings for fractional instruments has been the aim of the development.

The Fractional Cello Strings From Larsen Strings® Offer You:

    Great Sound Quality and Playability

The Power and Projection of Full-Sized Strings

    Warm, Rich Focused Tone

    Easy String Response

    High Tuning and Pitch Stability

A and D Strings

The A and D strings are solid steel core strings offering the beautiful warmth and projection known from the popular 4/4 cello A and D strings.

G and C Strings

Larsen Strings® G and C strings are manufactured with the expensive wire core technology in order to obtain the best possible string flexibility and string response. With Tungsten as winding material the diameter is exceptionally small for such fractional strings.

The G and C strings are for the instrument sizes ¼ and ½ available in two different versions, Tungsten and Tungsten Silver, whereas these G and C stings for the instrument size 1/8  are available as Tungsten Silver only.

The Tungsten stings are warm and focused sounding from the first playing (for the C sting a short playing-in time has to be considered), but they offer more power and punch and slightly more brilliance than the Tungsten Silver version.

The Tungsten strings offer even easier playability and bow response and a warmer, softer sound from the first moment of playing.
